  • In order to ensure trees look correct from above, all atlases should enable the horizontal billboard by checking the box that says "include" in the Horizontal section of the atlas propertiesīefore creating library objects using bglcomp, the compiled SpeedTree model mustīe converted to Prepar3D's mdl format using the SrtToMdl tool.
  • The setting Compile->Shader Compilation->Material Merging should be set to "SpeedTree 5.x style".
  • Creating an srt file requires the SpeedTree Compiler which must be purchased/licensed from IDV.
  • To display properly in Prepar3D the following compiler settings should be used: SpeedTree Models (.spm) must be compiled to SpeedTree runtime models (.srt) using the SpeedTree Compilerīefore they can be converted to MDL for use with Prepar3D. GUIDs can be generated using a GUID generator.
  • Type or paste the GUID value into the "User data 2" field.
  • Type the friendly name into the "User data 1" field.
  • It should be at the bottom of the Tree Properties window.
